Rhonda Fine, PhD, ARNP, MSN is a Board Certified Clinical Sexologist and a Diplomate of The American Academy of Clinical Sexologists. In addition Dr. Fine is a medically trained and licensed Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioner. Therefore, Dr. Fine’s services differ from most psychotherapists. This specialized combination of training allows Dr. Fine the ability to prescribe medications and laboratory tests. It also gives Dr. Fine a unique Holistic and Integrated perspective. Also, Dr. Fine is an experienced educator as well a trained EMDR clinician. EMDR is a therapy developed and used worldwide for post-traumatic stress disorder. Dr. Fine provides comprehensive individually tailored treatments that include the basic principles of ealth and emotional balance.
Dr. Fine practices Psychotherapy and Psychopharmacology in South Florida as it relates to Human Sexuality, Depression, Anxiety Disorders, Issues of Co-Dependency, Marital Relationship Conflicts, Pre-Marital Counseling, Divorce and Separation Transition, Post Traumatic Stress Syndrome, Anger Control, Addictions, the Psychological aspects of Weight Loss and Weight Maintenance, Stress Management and Life Style Modification.
Dr. Fine has been involved in the health care field since 1979. She completed her undergraduate degree at the University of Miami and her graduate studies at Florida International University, where she graduated Phi Beta Kappa. She then went on to complete postgraduate studies at The American Academy of Clinical Sexologists. Dr. Fine worked as an adjunct Faculty member at Florida International University teaching Physical Assessment, Intensive Care and Gerontology. Presently, Dr. Fine is a Clinical Associate Professor at The American Academy of Clinical Sexologists teaching Male and Female Sexual and Reproductive Anatomy, Male and Female Sexual Health and Dysfunction. Dr. Fine is a professionally trained clinician for Post Traumatic Stress Syndrome (EMDR) and Stress Relief and Management (HeartMath). In addition, Dr. Fine has conducted research in to reversing the sexual side effects suffered as a result of the use of antidepressant medication.
Dr. Fine is an active member of: The American Academy of Clinical Sexologists, The American Association of Sex Educators, Counselors, and Therapists, EMDR International Association and The Broward Association of Psychiatric Nurse Practitioners.
Most recently the Miami Herald in regards to Psychological Eating, the New York Post with Relationship advice, and OK Magazine have published Dr. Fine nationally. Dr. Fine was interviewed on WLYN radio in regards to Obesity, Psychological Eating and Weight Management and WMCU on the topic of Cancer and Intimacy. Additionally, she has made guest appearances on NBC 6 with Bob Mayer and on Comcast Newsmakers. She was an invited speaker at WPBT Channel 2’s Sixth Annual Women’s Health Fair where she was asked to speak on the topic of Women’s Sexual Health.
Internationally, Dr. Fine presented in Munich, Germany, a paper titled, “ A Multidisciplinary Approach To Restoring Sexual Function Post Prostate Surgery”, on behalf of the German Society For Social Scientific Research in conjunction with The European Federation of Sexology and The World Association for Sexual Health.
Dr. Fine is a Member of the American Academy of Clinical Sexologists, The American Association of Sex Educators, Counselors and Therapists, EMDR International Association and The Association of Psychiatric Nurse Practitioners.
